This year AthVentureCon will be at the beautiful Lough Rea Hotel & Spa
The hotel is located just 10/15 minutes walk from the town center and is only 25 minutes from Galway City and about 10 minutes off the Dublin-Galway motorway. Buses also run from Galway City and Dublin to Loughrea via Citylink.ie
We have negotiated special bed & breakfast rates for all guests of AthVentureCon. To avail to these rates, please ring the hotel and tell them you’re with AthVentureCon. There are only a very limited number of rooms left at these discounted rates and once they are gone, they are gone!!

Other Options: There are a number of other hotels and B&Bs in Loughrea that are a walk or a short taxi ride away from the hotel too.

The Loughrea Hotel & Spa is located on Athenry Road in Loughrea, Co. Galway, H62 Y189.
Food On-site
For AthVentureCon attendees only, the hotel will be selling casual food at the all new AthVentureMacs in “Umbra’s Haunt“, to the left of the hotel reception desk. Food will be available both Saturday and Sunday between 7am-10:30am (Breakfast), 12pm-3pm, and 5pm-8pm. The lunch and dinner menu will include:

Transportation

There is no train station in Loughrea, but you can catch a train to one of the closest stops (Athenry to the west, Woodlawn to the east, or Gort to the sourh) and take a taxi for the last 22-25 km (see below). Or take a train to Galway, Craughwell, or Athlone and a bus to Loughrea (see next).

On the weekend, your best bet is City Link (https://www.citylink.ie/), which has busses running every other hour between Dublin and Galway, stopping at the center of Loughrea, a 1 mile walk to the Lough Rea Hotel & Spa. You can also catch the same bus in Craughwell or and Athlone.
